teaching my tykes
I think I have mentioned in one of my previous posts that I will set my blogging activities aside for a little while for some more important matters. Actually, I was planning to teach my two toddlers reading, writing and math. Instead of just playing around here and watching the television all day long, I want them to learn some concepts they will encounter once they get some formal schooling.
I believe this is a good bonding activity for all of us. Sometimes, I notice that the kids get so bored and they are always in search of something to do. Since I am always busy, I just give them something to eat or I just let them watch tv.
Believing that parents are the kids’ best teachers, I would like to take this chance of personally teaching my kids even before they go to school since I am a stay-at-home mom. The thought of homeschooling was seriously considered before we went here in Bahrain, but the idea was dismissed for we have seen the need to expose them to other people and to other kids belonging to their age group. I do not want them to think that the world just consists of Dade, Mame, Kuya Marc and Baby Matt. There are just so many people to meet out there.
