BAGUIO!!!
I’ve been to baguio four times already. And those were some crucial points in my life.
Four months after my mom passed away, my tita emma invited me to spend my vacation in their home in pangasinan and promised to bring me to baguio. And since, I haven’t gone there yet, I was persuaded.
When we were already there, I was so close to tears because I missed my mom. She really wanted to go there with our whole family, but didn’t happen anymore. And I was just so sad that she wasn’t with me when I finally got the chance to see the place.
My second baguio visit was during the MCS staff retreat. And Bishop Ted Bacani was our retreat master then. I enjoyed the retreat because Bishop was really funny. And he got all his points across without sounding so self-righteous or highly religious. He was very bouncy, and that made all his talks inspirational yet enjoyable. We were given the chance to go out of the retreat house on our last day there. we would be leaving in the afternoon, and so we took the opportunity of taking a tour in the morning. We went to Crystal Cave, Chinese Temple, Strawberry Farm, The Mansion, Botanical Garden, Burnham Park, and , of course, who would forget the market?!
Third visit was with ate rachelle, my best friend’s sister. During that time, we were both in a state of confusion. But despite our own ordeals, we still had a good time. We stayed in the Teachers Camp, famous for having so many ghost stories. We enjoyed wandering around Camp John Hay, taking so many pictures of ourselves in the Butterfly Garden and in every tomb in the Cemetery of Negativism. Hay, I just miss baguio and ate racze! And the highlight of this event was… I’ve found the sign I was looking for after I got home.
My last one was the most unforgettable. Few days after my baguio escapade with ate racze, my husband and I had our first date in baguio!!!!…. but with some chaperones, harhar! We went to Mines View Park, Camp John Hay and PMA. We all had a good time.
When my kids grow a little older, I’ll bring them to the place where everything for us started. I’m looking forward for our family picture taken in the spot where their parents had their first pictures together. So excited!!!!
