My father talked to me about the importance of availing different kinds of insurance, especially for us since my kids are still small. He told me that he realized the need for it when my mother passed away. He had a hard time thinking about how he could fund our college education. Luckily, his employer was so kind and compassionate enough to teach him how he could earn more.

Weighing all the possibilities, that conversation persuaded me to get a disability insurance, so that whatever happens, the kids will not be much affected. I believe that this will be a wise move because it can give us the assurance that if ever something happens, we can always rely on some assistance.

Other people might take this negatively. As for me, this may be a cliche, it’s better to be prepared than be sorry. A lot of people out there are afraid to think ahead, believing that those not-so-good things will not happen to them. But you will only realize that you should have prepared for the worst when you are already confronted by the storm.
